Five Questions Foreign Investors Ask Most
Foreign investors planning to invest in and establish a new company in Taiwan must complete an application form with the required supporting documents and submit it in advance to the Investment Review Department, Ministry of Economic Affairs, regardless of the investment amount.
The Company Act no longer sets a minimum capital requirement, so there is no minimum limit on the investment amount for foreign investors setting up a company in Taiwan. However, if the local company's business involves a regulated industry, you should also check with the relevant competent authority regarding business operation rules and any minimum capital requirements that may apply.
